We are absolutely thrilled to be able to share this: the restoration of the Korg PS-3100, carried out jointly by analogia.pl and Werkstatt Matlak, has just been completed!
It is quite possible that this is one of the most meticulously restored PS-3100s in the world. Not only has the instrument undergone a complete overhaul of its electronics — including the installation of a Kenton MIDI interface — but it has also been fitted with new wooden panels and new edge connectors, the replacement of which is absolutely essential for any major restoration of Korg PS series synthesisers.
But that’s not all:
all logic ICs and keyboard dividers have been placed in sockets and replaced,
all the notorious, leaking Matsushita capacitors were removed and replaced with new ones,
the synthesiser has been calibrated with exceptional precision, with particular emphasis on long-term reliability and operational stability.
In short: every possible effort has been made with this instrument. We can confidently say that this is one of the most comprehensive and meticulous restorations of a Korg PS-3100 ever carried out.
Interestingly, the set also includes the original Korg stand complete with a cover! You can see it in the original Roland brochure in the photo.
